About Ross Family Practice
Ross Family Practice is a GP surgery located in New Ross, Co. Wexford. Dr Karl Roulston and Dr Niamh Carew are partners in the Practice and both have been working in New Ross for many years. Dr Karl and Dr Niamh together with the rest of the medical and support team at Ross Family Practice aim to provide excellent medical care in a friendly, well organised setting. They are passionate about the importance of having a good GP service and patient care will be at the heart of what they do. They look forward to welcoming you and your families to Ross Family Practice.
Meet the Team
Dr Karl Roulston
MB BCH BAO BA MICGP DCH LFOM
Dr Karl qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2003. He then spent two years working in hospital medicine before starting on the South East General Practice Training Scheme in 2005. The GP specialist training scheme included two years working in various hospital specialities including Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Psychiatry and Paediatrics. A further two years were spent working in General Practice Surgeries as a GP registrar. Dr Karl completed his training in 2009. He had spent some time working in New Ross as a GP registrar and returned to New Ross to work on completion of the scheme. He is experienced in all areas of General Practice and has a special interest and expertise in Occupational Health, Respiratory Disease and providing care to patients in Long Term Residential Facilities.
Dr Niamh Carew

Dr Niamh qualified from University College Cork in 2004. She then spent a year working in Australia before returning to Ireland to pursue General Practice training on the South East Training Scheme. She spent two years working in various hospital specialities, including Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Psychiatry, Paediatrics and Palliative Care. She then spent a further two years working in General Practice Surgeries as a GP registrar. She qualified as a GP in 2010 and has worked in New Ross ever since. She has completed diplomas in Paediatrics and Psychiatry, various women’s health courses and has a certificate in Palliative Care.
Dr Eibhlis Ahearne
MB BCH BMed Sc MRCPI MICGP Dip OB
Dr Eibhlis is a UCC medical graduate and she also completed her General Practice Training on the South East General Practice Training Scheme. She has worked with Dr Niamh and Dr Karl for the last six years in New Ross and we are delighted that she is part of our new team. She is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of General Practice and has a special interest in Paediatrics, Women’s Health, General Medicine and Palliative Care.

Nurse Linda Fogarty has worked in New Ross for a number of years and is an excellent addition to the team at Ross Family Practice.
Nurse Lorraine Grady and Nurse Ailish Furlong both joined the team in 2022.
